Headlights..

I am getting older and can not see as well as I need to. Does anybody have any suggestions for a headlight upgrade for a 2007 truck? Thanks for any suggestions.

HID's from Retro-Solutions. My Dad had the same issue with his '07.5 so I installed a set of 4300k 35w bi-xenon HID's. Made a world for difference.

Well, i'm in Texas, DFW area. And this weekend I got pulled over because of my my HID lights in my truck. The state trooper said it was no longer legal to add HID headlights to a vehicle that did not come with then from the factory. I only got a warning, but just thought I'd pass it along...

That really s-u-c-k-s! So you going to remove them or take yer chance and maybe it was a fluke and you got pulled over. How long have you had them on your truck?

I have hard time believing that. Did he quote the section in the TXDOT? Wonder if he was just trolling. Heck, I got a warning ticket from the DPS on I-10 for doing 72 mph in a 70!

Properly aligned 35w 4300k shouldn't be an issue. Now 55w 8k can be a problem.

The trooper didn't quote anything, but he put it on the warning that he have me. And since I was doing 78 in a70, and I only got a warning for that one... I didn't argue. I am going to take the HID's out. They are a cheap set anyways. I have no brights basically...
I've had them in for 3 years now, and they are aligned pretty close to factory.

Just a set of the good silverstar bulbs for the low beams and driving lights made a huge difference.
So does doing the mod to keep the driving lights on with the hi beams.
I was reminded how bad they used to be, drove an 06 a cpl weeks ago with OE bulbs.

So I took out the HID bulbs. First thing is the right side low beam is not working. The bulb is good, and the high beam works. But for some reason, three low beam well not come on.

i put silverstar bulbs in my 2005 the other day and that made a world of difference.

I know its a different year, but i would have assumed that by 2007 dodge would have fixed their poor quality headlights.

i really like my old truck, 62K,
the the other night i rode in my buddies 08 GMC and there was a world of difference in his headlights, they were much better than my std lights.

The auotzone silverstar bulbs, about $45 made a world of difference and they installed them for me.

Doing the Fogzilla upgrade (bought from Geno's) to my fog lights made a huge difference for me. I rarely switch to the high beams.

Do you have a load resistor on the low beam circuit for the HID's? If so remove it and the ballast relay.

If that doesn't work the TIPM will need to be reset by the dealer.

Are you talking about the "Bulbzilla kit"?

Yes. I just checked Geno's site and see that the name has been changed since I bought mine, 4 years ago. The bulb upgrade makes the fog lights bright enough that I've actually forgotten to turn the low beams on occasionally...
