grill wrinkle
grill wrinkle
My truck is only 6 months old and already I got some awful wrinkles in the finish on the grill. Will need to be replaced. I got a picture of it, but I get it as far as the manage attachments thingy, but can't get it to show in this box. Have to admit, I'm a dinosaur when it comes to computers. If anyone can coach me, I would like to show y'all what is happening to my grill. Hey maybe I did it, here goes
I live "way up north" and the nearest dealer is 750 miles from here and my dealer is 1200 miles. I will see my dealer in mid June and I don't expect any problems having the grill replaced under warranty. Disturbs me though that the product is not tougher than what it seems to be. By the way that picture was taken 10 days ago. Did you notice the snow bank along my driveway???
If I were in your situation I think I'd contact whoever you go through at the dealer and send him an e-mail about the problem, with the photo attached.
Hopefully that way they can decide that it's a warranty issue and have parts on hand when you show up in June...

We were told by the GM dealer that the primary cause for this is washing the vehicle indoors in the warmth before the plasti-chrome has warmed up to ambient temperatures. Not sure if I buy into it, but take it for what it's worth.

I hope they use less salt in Labrador than they use in Ontario I find the plastic on my truck deteriorates worse and worse with each winter.
The advice to send a picture to my dealer is good advice and now that I've learned to send pictures, I've done just that. No the abominable snow man won't get me, we are tough enough in the north that he stays out of our way. At least I've never seen him.
No salt is used on town streets up here, and it's only been 3 yrs that the province uses a bit on country roads. It's not uncommon to see 30 year old vehicles as solid, body-wise, as a new one.

Way up North,
Good job with the picture. When I first opened the forum, I notices the snow bank and was going to ask you what the white stuff was behind you.
Having grown up in the mountains of Colorado and now Living in Las Vegas I can honestly say I miss the snow!! My family and I went home over the Christmas holidays when Colorado was hit by a huge blizzard, and I enjoyed every minute of it - even while digging family and friends out of similar sized snow banks!
But to be honest, a snow bank that size in May could be considered a bit extreme for most people.
Hope the weather's warming up for you,

I had the same thing happen with less than 2000 kms on my truck. Showed it to the parts manager and he hooked my up with a new grille no problem. Now I think the new one is going to do the same thing
. Don't see them replacing it a problem for you though.
