I have 142 K miles on the originals on my truck. I tried other pads over the yrs on my Rams. Had similar experiences with the more expensive pads...cracked pads, faster rotor wear. For me...the stock pads seem to wear best and are matched well to the rotors for wear. Most of that is highway driving so that makes a big difference too.
I have a spare set of rotors and pads for when its time for a swap.

Good info.

So, 6000 or 7000 pads on a driver that might pull maybe a couple times a year?

I hear great things about OEM too, I need to look at those.

Go with the 7000 series. I am very pleased with them. EBC pads are available at Pep Boys if you have one in your area.

The OEM pads are very good; however, the Dodge Valu Line pads are rubbish.

I just had my fronts done last week with OEM pads (not valu-line). My originals ONLY lasted 55k. But, that's a lot compared to other cars/trucks I have owned.
