Greenstuff Brake Pads
 

I just finished putting EBC Greenstuff brake pads on my truck. The fronts got EBC SUV Supreme Greenstuff pads (DP71650). The rears got EBC Greenstuff pads (DP61267). The set of pads were $206.51 delivered and the high line Mopar pads would be about $193.00 plus shipping.

The pads fit perfectly in all positions with no issues installing. I did the install with thorough cleaning, brake grease everywere and rotating my tires in 2 hours or so. If I were trying a little harder and I had not had to swap my front tires again it could have been an hour or so. Note to those with directional tred tires, remember this when doing the rotation so you do not have to jack the truck back up and swap the front tires to get them in the right direction.[duhhh]

I test drove the truck and I am very inpressed with the gain in braking horsepower. The manufacturer claims a 25% gain but so far I would estimate it is closer to 40%. I do not know how long they will last but I would be thrilled with them if they lasted half as long if the brake power stays like it is now.

They have a very faint squeel but that is supposed to be normal and go away in a few miles. These pads are supposed to have very low dust and be very quiet. The customer reviews I have read all say that they are both.

post back in a few hundred miles, i am interested in these if they feel good, and don't come apart like all the ones i have tried. and the brake dust part too. i tried ceramic, and they sucked, there was more brake dust then the factory brake pads, and they were real noisy.

200 miles and doing well, good stop, no dust and an occassional squeel.

400+ miles and mine are a ton better then stock. Just did a pull with TB and will say mucho better. I was a bit nervous with the first miles and the squeal. But they say thats normal and now it's gone.

Diesel4play and quadman20 did either of you put on new rotors also or just the pads?

Subscribed. I'd like to hear about the dust after a couple thousand miles.

I've had them for about 20k miles now. The brake dust is tremendously improved. Not saying there is none, but am saying it is a 1000% better and it no longer is annoying. Barke performance is improved too, but personally, I don't think it is 40%... maybe the 25. I have no squeal or other noise. I put them on with the stock rotors. Wear seems to be close to the stock pads, but won't really know until close the the end.

They are worth the price and I would buy them again.

Soulezoo - Did you buy the 6000 or 7000 series pads for the front end?

I see diesel4play got the 7000 (supreme) series, but I thought I'd just check to see which model you had installed up front. I'm about ready to buy them and wasn't sure which set to get, although I'm leaning toward the 7000 series, since they're only about $20 more.

Mine are on stock rotors. The rotors were in great shape so I figured I run another set of pads and check again.
I just drove LA to SF Monday and they performed perfectly. I have found no dust yet and the squeel has gone away.
The braking power has either reduced a little or I am used to them now. They still require a lot less pedal to do the same work so it is probabley a little of both.
I am at 650 miles on them now.

I don't really know now that you mention it. I got "green stuff" pads and didn't know there was a difference between them. When I got them, there was not 2 different kinds that I recall. I know there is also "yellow stuff"...

Did you get the rotors turned, or just put the pads in?

I just picked up an 06 2500 and I'm surprised how much dust the front brakes put out.:o

I did not turn the rotors, they were that good. Man the stock brakes are dusty huh?
I am at 1100 miles on the brakes now. They have settled in and are doing very well. Brake performance is about what they claim, SOTP. The dust is a lot less and it is grey and not the rusty red of the stock pads.
So far I would say they are great product.
We will see about durabillity.

Thanks for posting this, I have ordered the 7000 series pads and look forward to the install. I've had EBC pads on my dodge dakota and my motorcycle, been happy with them all.
