Gen. 3 rear interior mod. question
Gen. 3 rear interior mod. question
Hi All,
I have a 2003 crew cab CTD with split rear seats, under seat storage and fold flat floor. I am looking a designing/fabricating a fixture to hold my golf clubs vertically on the drivers side of the truck. I'm not sure what to do, remove the folding 1/3 of the seat and floor, then build a stand of some sort to hold the clubs. The reason I'm doing this, is to convieiently hold the clubs and carry 2-3 passengers without tossing them in bed.
Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions?
Thank,
Rob

As another option how about buying a crossbed toolbox. That would avoid altering the interior of your pickup. Plus depending on how deep of a box you get you might be able to fit more than one pair on clubs in there.
I had a box in the rear of my last pick up, but I prefer the clubs in side the cab for a number of reasons; security, ease of access (I've 35" tires on the truck and I'm only 5'11'') and vertically the clubs will be better off than banging around horizontally. I don't want to make major/irreversible changes, but a hole or two here or there is fine.
cheers,
Rob

Leave the fold flat floor in and down. Cut a hole big enough to place the bottom of your golf bag in. Now you need some support for the top of the bag. You could cut a smaller diameter hole in the fold flat floor to stick a 3 foot piece of steel rod or pipe into. At the top of the pipe, have an attachment with velcro or the straps from the back of a golf cart to snug your bag in. Honestly, this seems like a lot of work for nothing. But if you don't mind cutting your truck up, then drive on! Hopefully this may ignite some ideas for you. Good luck.
