Front Reciever Hitch

Has anyone installed a front hitch on their truck. Was wondering about installation time and problems. All of the ones that I have looked at you pretty much have to take the front bumper off and drill holes in the frame! Don't care to be drilling holes in the frame of my truck. Thanks in advance!

Try this out: Follow the link to his "Picture Page"

Do realize that the strongest way is to drill into the frame. That is how the rear is mounted. I have heard of hitches that go to the stock towhook locations, but I am unsure if they have Dodge applications.

Front Receiver

I installed a Hidden Hitch front receiver on my 2003 3500 2wd,which I bought through E-trailer.com,I think I paid $100-$150+/-.I use it to carry 2 bikes, on a bike rack.Only down side for me, is that with a 2wd 3500, the hitch receiver is low,& hits my drive way ,some times. The hole that you have to drill is way foward on the frame,in the center bottom,"IMHO" I don't see any harm done "IMHO".You only have to take out the bumper bolt's ,not remove the bumper.I had one of my son's help,it took us about 2hrs,but as my kid say's I'm slow! Pat (P.S,I think it's limited to about 300lbs vertical weight)

I also installed a Hidden Hitch front receiver on mine. I've got a winch that sits on a receiver that fits in there. It's a piece of cake to mount and works great. It's also great for hooking up a trailer to instead of trying to use the rear hitch to back the trailer in some place.

Wow! Beefy indeed! They look great, but I think I'd have to get Ram 3500 front springs just to keep the same height as I have now! With the weight of the CTD and that bumper, would the rear wheels stay on the ground of a regular cab, long bed truck???
