Finally have a CTD, but not the one I ordered

I picked up my Truck earlier this week. I would have posted earlier, but I was too interested in driving it I ended up canceling the truck I had on order with a G-56 and had the dealer find me a similar one with a NV-5600. I got it at 1% below invoice because I qualify for thier affiliate program. I'm happy with the deal although I was a little disappointed that after buying a 43K truck they would only give me list price on parts I wanted to purchase the same day I had them changed the CD/Cassette radio out for a CD changer and they charged me list price for it. I did get a credit for the old radio, but after adding an hour of labor it wasn't much cheaper than buying it and installing myself The 1/2 tank of fuel wasn't impressive either. I'm happy with the deal I got, but I don't think I will be telling people that they should go there for great service either.

Oops, this is turning into a rant

I love the new truck, details are in my sig. I ended up getting the parts shipped to my door for 10% under list.

Ya! You'ld think you would get a big discount on parts after laying down that much money but I guess they are paying you back for not paying the sticker price..

I still have the new truck grin also. My dealer tryed to get me to pay list for the fold flat floor. It was over $800. No way. Got it on ebay for under 2bills. Anyway, forget the dealer, enjoy the truck. It's all good.

Nice! I too still have the "new truck grin"
Mine is only two weeks old and has less than 600 miles on her!

BTW, I got mine for 1% below invoice too due to the affiliate program. Gotta love it!

Congratulations on your new truck! I'm glad that you were able to find the NV5600 after what those of us with G-56 equipped trucks on order went through. I'll be taking delivery on mine on Saturday. My dealer discounts parts 15% for the first 30 days after delivery. It helps on items like the exhaust brake that list at $1,997 ($Canadian).

How do I tell the diffrence between the two engines and what is the diffrence. I just got mine yesterday, I traded in the HEMI....all I knew is that I wanted a cummins I didn't know there are diffrent versions. All my window sticker says is" 5.9 Cummins Turbo Diesel -610-lb- ft. and 4 spped auto" The tag on the engine has a bulid date of 4/1/05.

Sorry...CTD newbie...I know nothing yet I am learning alot off this site

P Talley----I think you are getting confused between the engine and trans, they are talking about the 6 spd. trans, the older one being the nv5600 and the new version being the g-56. You have the latest version engine, 325 h.p.- 610 ft. lb.
I see it's your first post so welcome aboard, this is a great site with lots of info and good people.
