Fender Flare Help
Fender Flare Help
I am really wanting a set of Bushwacker Street Flares but I don't want to pay over $400 for them. I have seen a lot of flares on Ebay for sale. Has anyone here tried any of these Ebay flares or any other flare beside Bushwackers? What do they look like, how well do they hold up..... If ya know, let me know. Also, where is cheapest place to buy Bushwackers? Heck, I would even buy a set of used ones!
Thanks. The other thing I would like to see are good pics of trucks that have BW, Stampede, and ATS flares. They all gind of look the same. I made a type O, I am looken to get extended flares, but not the pocket style. The Stampede and ATS are about $100 or more cheaper.
AIK. Thanks SOOO much for the pic. That really helps a lot. If you could, could you post a pic from a distance so I can see the entire truck with them on? Maybe a quartering toward the camera shot. That way, I can see how far the stick out and see what they look like from the side. So far, I REALLY like those ATS flares. Thanks!!!!
NICE! By the looks of it, I can't tell the difference between them and all the others, lol. Except for the price. I have found the ATS ones for as low as $285. Way cheaper than BW. So, what is the diff? I really can't tell. Anyone with fender flares that wouldn't mind posting pics with the BRAND of there flares would be great. THANKS dodchall70 and AIK.

Here are 3 more shots.

The main reason, other than cost, that I purchased the ATS over the BW is the way they are fastened to the vehicle. The ATS flares use a two sided tape whereas the BW used a gasket. I read on a number of forums that grit will get between the gasket and the fender causing the paint to rub off and will probably then start to rust.

I just got the stock ones from Dodge that they put onto the Power Wagon. THey installed much easier then the Bushwackers that I had on my F-150 and they match the other plastic around the truck. Plus I got them for $212.

If you keep your truck a long time be warned they'll wear through your paint eventually no matter what kid you get as you can read here:

I was going to put some Xenon's on my truck but now I'm selling them...

Well, since we are talking about them rubbing through paint, do those little phony chrome fender things rub through? I hope not. I have had them on for over 2 years. Doese anyone know if they rub through?????????????????????
It sounds like as far as the flares go, there are a few things you can do to slow down the wear. Electrical tape, or some clear coat 3M film. Thanks Fisherguy
