Thumbs up Engine hours display on 3rd gen

Hey guys, I found something pretty cool this evening. Thought you might like to try it out. Using the following procedure will show engine hours on your truck:
When the trip odometer reset switch button is pressed and held for longer than about six seconds with the ignition switch in the On position and the engine speed message from the PCM is zero, the trip odometer information will be momentarily displayed, then the engine hours information will be displayed. The VFD must be displaying the odometer information when the trip odometer reset switch button is pressed in order to toggle to the engine hours display. The engine hours will remain displayed for about thirty seconds, until the engine speed message is greater than zero, or until the ignition switch is turned to the Off position, whichever occurs first.
Mine showed 197 hours with 6k miles.

Jack,

That is too cool! I ran to the truck and checked mine. 164 hours at 6449 miles. I thought about installing an hour meter, and it has one.
Thanks! You're the man.

Now divide your hours by the number of miles on the truck and that is your average mile per hour.Mine so far is a paltry 25.6 avg MPH

If you push and hold the odometer button, then turn the ignition to ON, it goes thru a self-test and ends up showing any error codes at the end of the test. It looks cool.

I just tried that!!
it's the only time I'll see 5,000 RPM's on the tach but not the only time I'll see 120 MPH on the speedo!!

Lots of lights (but for some reason the dome light went out even with the door open) & I got 00 00 after the C Codes so I guess there are no codes stored!!
