Electronic Speed Sensor wire - Navigation

I'm installing a navigation unit and need to find the speed sensor wire? Anyone done this before and found it? Perferably in the cab. It seems to work fine without it, wondering why it needs to be connected in the first place.

thanks in advance.

It "needs" to be installed because you should not be watching DVDs like over 15 mph or something. But most people bypass it so they can watch DVDs while moving...

They have that there to safe the companys butt when someone gets into an accident because of it...

On my Pioneer AVIC N2 and currently N3 units, the VSS wire was used to make the system learn as a 3D hybrid. From all I can tell the only thing it changed was the ability for the slope to work where it finds the slope the vehicle is sitting on. If it's a navigation unit, the GPS antennae can tell the vehicle speed.
