Dual Zone HVAC Led's
Hi
Gonna switch to LED's in my dash in the spring and would also like to change the ones in my HVAC centre.
I have an '05 2500 Laramie with the dual zone heat controls. My question is are these bulbs soldered in or are they the screw-in type like the dash bulbs.
I ordered the 8.5D HP's (I think... been a while since I ordered them) for the dash and I think they are the hi profile that are supposed to cure any dark spots.
Has anyone replaced their bulbs in the dual; zone HVAC console? I see the bulbs are a T 1.5 or something like that.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hey man, not dual zone but in my '05, they were just little mini bulbs that are easily replaceable. I would not think that there are different bulbs for dual or single. I had to get the special bulbs from the dealer. They had mini plastic housings that twist in like on clusters.

Anyone have any luck finding a LED replacement bulb for the OEM HVAC panel that do not require a bunch of resistors or am I stuck replacing with the original OEM incandescent type?

After removing my HVAC panel I found it to be a closed unit... unserviceable. 2005 Ram 2500 Dsl.
So now I have to live without my panel lights unless I want to spend $250.00 and replace the whole panel. Stupid engineering if you ask me.
Incidentally I replaced my dash lights with LED's. BIG mistake!
Didn't have one of the lamps seated correctly and burnt a section of my panel.
Had to get a used panel (from US so it was wrong units).
Since fixed the board and put the old lights back in... Anyone need a used dash panel?

On my '03 the Heater/AC control panel is fully accessible and the "button" style OEM incandescent bulbs are indeed "socketed" and "serviceable". Someone would make a killing if they could come up with a viable LED "plug-n-play" solution for these applications which doesn't require a bunch of load resistors and avoids creating a bunch of gremlins within the finicky OBDII electronics
