Transmission problems resolved.........finally

My 2008 Megacab with auto trans would not shift into overdrive. First attempt to resolve was to replace a pressure transducer. This corrected the problem for about 300 miles. Next trip back to dealer they changed out the transmission module. That didn't cure the problem either. Finally they discovered that there were wires swapped in the harness. Wires in pits 27 and 28 were crossed. Everything is fine now. Just wanted to pass this on in case anyone is having a similar problem.

New problem..........Outside Thermometer "stuck"

The outside temp display is stuck on 76 F. Any idea how to reboot it?

Mine did that the other day when I parked at the local wal mart. When I came out it was cooking hot out and my temp said it was 70 something. Next morning it was working fine again and is still good. I think if they get too hot they go on strike. But if you figure out that it is something else, I would love to know.

Well, I guess it's time for updated pics after the LightForce lights and 2" RevTek leveling kit.

I've been running these for a bit. I recommend a leveling kit, of any kind for that matter. Sure makes the truck sleek without the nose dropped so low. I run Timbrens front and back. So, even before getting the leveling kit installed, I called Timbren and gave them 1 & 13/16" measurement to what I thought I'd actually get out of the kit. They sent me a new front kit before I was even finished - I thought I might have to modify spacing, but the new front kit they sent was perfect.

I do not recommend LightForce lights. They're OK, but you pay a lot of money for the name. If they ever do break, I'm going back to what I ran when I was driving OTR. They're far cheaper and put out the same light. I can change lenses and sealed beams 10x for the price of a set of LightForce.

No problem and thanks! The front is still slightly lower than the rear. However, far better than before - me likes the look a lot. I wasn't going to do it, but I got the leveling kit from a member up here that was removing it from his.......glad I did.

has any megacabbers done any audio improvements?? i'm thinking of a head unit and door speaker upgrade, maybe a couple subs in the future... just wondering who has done what...

There are several guys that have done extensive audio installs. One the comes to mind is this one : https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...=audio+install Its not a mega, but you can get speaker boxes for Megas that make a clean install and great sound. Good Luck!

New to diesels and Mega Cabs

Just bought my 1st diesel this past weekend. I've owned 2 Chevy 1/2T gassers which were both great but needed to get something able to tow a little more comfortably. Just towing my boat and a Jeep on occasion but the Chevy was getting tired with 210k on it. Didnt want to grenade the transmission.

After hunting for 5-6 months and watching prices fall drastically, I finally landed a good deal on the options/color I wanted. See sig.

Looking forward to many, many years of great Dodge/Cummins service.
