I have a dumb question, Where is the silencer ring located? I think it has something to do with the turbo.

 

No dumb questions around here! If you remove the intake tube that runs from the air cleaner box to the turbo, you will find the silencer ring located just inside the turbo. There is a retainer ring that you will need to pry out with a couple of little flat blade screw drivers. Once that is out the silencer ring will come right out. For more detailed info just search "silencer ring removal".
