On my 2004.5 CTD Quad cab drivers side there's a big gouge in the weather stripping between the drivers door and the body.

Here's the location:

Right where the lower corner of the drivers side front windshield meets the upper front corner of the drivers side front door meets the upper back corner of the front drivers side quarter panel.

Just about where the drivers side outside rear view mirror is.

Open the drivers door and inspect the weather stripping in the door jam at that spot and see if there's any excessive wear or gouging or tearing in the rubber stripping on the truck side, not on the door side.

I'm wondering if it's a factory problem, or that the drivers door gets so much more use, or if the factory or dealer may have cut some of the rubber out (hence the gouge) bcause of not-so-great fit and finish.

If you check it out please post what you find.

my dealership replaced mine with no questions asked.
they replace both sides with a differently designed stripping.
