Death Wobble - Need Heavier Springs ?

Just ruminatin' ........ thinking back over the death wobble threads, where most but not all have had larger tires, and in the recent one where the gentleman had a 'snowplow kit', one item that seems like it may have been overlooked are the front springs. Could it be that by making the front end heavier, such as with a snow plow kit, or by using larger, heavier tires, the damping in the system (shocks, tire construction, tire pressure, etc.) isn't adequate for possibly overloaded front springs ?

95% of the post concerning "death wobble" had a spacer lift on their vehicle. Simply adding a two in lift will cause the track bar to be short, in turn causing the front end to track slightly off (to the left), this causes unequal balance on the front springs as well as binding of the link arms. All the truck needs is an out of round tire, bump or turn in a corner to throw the front end in a violent wobble. Get an adjustable track bar...... boom... problem solved.

Check your caster and camber angles when you have it aligned. Camber is adjustable by getting adjustable ball joints!

Just a thought

Mine has the puck and the 315's and is steady as a rock on and off road. Perfect tire balance is a must (road force) so maybe I am just lucky.
