I always thought it was an interior tow hook.

It's where the put the screw that holds the dash on!

(on an '03-'05 anyway)

Silly me, I hook the handles of take out food bags there. Saves me the trouble of holding on to the food when I go around corners.

Back on topic:

I thought the dash hook was perfect for hanging the 8mm stripper-clip bandoliers from - keeps ya from having to take your eyes off the other vehicles on the interstate.

Haha, if my girlfriend ever says anything about the hook, thats what I'm going to tell her. Sher probably wont be amused either
