Darn Dodge, again

This time the lamp out light flashes and dings on and off every minute or so. Everytime I stop the light goes out and all the bulbs are fine.
Sorry guys but I'm really beginning to miss my Superduty.

Are you scared of the dark? The Dodges don't have the dome(night) lights that stay on long after the doors are shut.

What the heck are you talking about??
It has nothing to do with the dome light. The lamp out light is an indicator on the OEM cluster that's supposed to tell you if a headlight or taillight or turn signal is out.

The back left Tail Light is known for blowing out!!! Check your lights at the bases and see what is going on. I have has this happen to 2 different trucks and my brothers 1500 Ram. Light issues are a little less to worry about, compared to a Engine that will let loose at 80k max!!!! Dont sweat the small stuff!

Bulb may need some dielectric grease or replacment.Check the rear bulbs. Also check to make sure a third brake light bulb is not out.

I think I would rather see the lamp out light on a Dodge then the check engine light that is always on my buddies 6.0

I'd agree, except I've been through that with the Dodge too! Nothing wrong with the engine of course, just electrical problems with the Dodge. I think I've got the best motor on the road, just in the worst wrapper! I'd kill for an F-350 Crew with my motor and the Allison! Just wishfull thinking.
I'm going to double check all the taillights, I figured it was a filament bouncing around it's just so annoying to hear it ding....ding.....ding all the time!

Man, I'm glad. And I hope you continue to have good luck with the truck. I just get really annoyed with all the stupid little problems I didn't have to deal with since I had my 98 Ram. When I pay this kind of $$ for a truck I expect to not get rained on when I'm in the cab! Plus my electrical issues that went on for 2 months, and then U-joints, just listening to this ding is really getting to me. I know the lamp out is a silly problem, and bulbs burn out on everything but I could do without the noise!

I'll give it to ya on this one, that darn dinging is real anoying, everytime ya hit the brakes it dings, its worse than hearing " are we there yet " from the back seat..... I did have the drivers side brake light go, what a pita to get to , c'mon, why should I need a torx to get at a bulb, and then have only 3 inches of slack in the line to make it almost impossible to replace said bulb without scratching the truck??????

The Fords,Chevys aren't any better. For that matter read some of the Nissan and Toyota forums.Paint issues, sludge problems, parts that cost a small fortune.New level of cheapness through out EVERTHING these days.No more snacks on air planes.MY BIG ***** is NO SPOONS or ONE napkin in resturants and WAITERS whom don't take a order(its BUFFET) but signs that say WE WORK on TIPS and WE"RE paying to have TABLES BUSED these days.No BUSBOYS like back when. How'd the public get conned into THAT ONE. All the MANUFACTURES have less market share combined with slow sales.Warranty gets TIGHT and the bean counters cut every scap they can.NEW LEVEL OF CHEAPNESS through out lots of industary!

the lamp out works very well. you have one ready to go just not quite yet. i just replaced my left rear blinker it was intermittent at best just waited till darkand found it. next time it does it at night just hit blinkers without stopping and see wich one is out if not blinkers tap brakes you will be able to tell easily as they are very bright at night.

Get out a screw driver and examine the base of the rear lamps. The wire will be melted into the plastic base. Replace the offending bulbs with the newer design which has a glass base.

It will take you less time then complaining on this forum.
