Cruise cuts out..

Cruise cuts out..

When driving along on the highway my cruise just cuts out on my 04.5. And i cant reset it until i stop and shut the truck off and turn it back on and get back up to highway speeds. Very strange any help would appreciated. Thanks

I had a problem sounds just like that and they found the electric vacuum pump had gone bad and was no generating enough vacuum so when the ECM wants the sevro to pull the throttle it couldn't. No error code gets set just ECM stops trying to do cruise. The 03-04 automatic still have a vacuum servo doing the cruise control function, starting 05 servo use disappeared.

Also ensure your brake switch is not defective. This will disengage the cruise.
