Color matched Linex

Has anyone had their truck sprayed with the Linex color matched bedliner? I talked to Linex today and they said for $175 extra they color the material they shoot the bed with so it is the same color all the way through. After they do that they spray a coat of your truck color on top. Supposedly if it is scratched it isn't that noticeable since the material is the same color all the way through.

Whatcha think?

Here is a link to a Linex site that shows the color matching.

If anyone has had this done I would appreciate your opinion. I have a new 3500 on order and I'm thinking of having it done in silver to match the truck.

I think it would work great on my black truck. I have not seen one with the new color process yet.

LineX Xtra color match is "supposed" to be available by 1st of June. I would wait until that is finally released because it is the actual LineX coating which is matched to your truck, and it won't fade. That what I am waiting for to do the rocker panels on my truck.

If you do it now, make sure that you don't have to have the UV coating applied once a year. That is what the LineX dealers around here tell me with the current colormatching. They may be lying to me, or it may be an older process. Post Pics when you get it done though!

According to what I was told this is the LInex Xtra color. They've been shooting it for a couple of months now. That's what I said, it is the vehicle color all the way through and doesn't require a UV blocker.

Here is an email I got a week ago:

"Xtra in color is not available yet, release date now is tentativly set for June 1. But, we can still apply a non-fading exact color match using Dupont Nason. We currently use Nason for all of our color matches. And, really, Nason will be just fine for rockers. Let me know if you have any questions.

For me, it's worth it to wait b/c Xtra is supposed to be, well... Xtra awesome. If there are companies spraying it in color, I'd love to know. Maybe some have it and others don't.

Check out the link in my 1st post. That is LineX in Ft. Worth (2 stores 1 W and 1 S of Ft. Worth). According to the local Colo. Springs Linex they went down to Ft. Worth to get trained on it 2 months ago and have been spraying it since then.

Trained on the Dupont Nason, or the Color Matched Xtra?

I really don't know if the colormatch Xtra is available or not. You saw as much as I know, which is the email from the N. Tx dealer: He said it still isn't available yet.

I don't know anything about the addition of the dupont for the lineX. Maybe some who have had it done will chime in and inform the both of us. But it's your truck, your money and your choice. Any research I've done on the Xtra tells me that it is worth the extra wait for MY rocker panels. I've already done the bed in black, which is where the sun hits the most, and would cause the most fading. I did it b4 I knew anything about the colormatching, otherwise I probably would have waited to do it also. (though I do like the black/silver contrast)

*Just trying to help you out with any info I have.
Cheers,
Dave
