Check Engine Light

I have a 2006 Big Horn, 16,000 miles. Yesterday when I started the truck (it was cold by the way), my check engine light was on and stayed on all day. This morning when I went to take the truck in, ofcourse the light was off.

The dealer said it was a fault code and they updated the computer. This is literally the 2nd or 3rd time since I've had my truck the dealer has told me they've updated my computer.

Normal? How many updates are there?

turn your key off/on 3 times without starting the truck. This will display the code in your PCM. I had the same thing happen last week when it was cold and it turned out to be a P0514 code. This is a battery sensor error that is more of a pain and not a real problem. I believe there is a TSB for it. Do a search for a thread on this.

Sometimes computer updates are on going on new models for a while. In another words can be a fair amount of them or none at all. With the 6.7 around the corner as software glitch's show up there will be updates.
