Cab Lights
Cab Lights
Guys, I've been having problems with my center cab light. Been letting water in, this and that. I've tried silicone, this and that, still a problem. I believe I've found the issue. The gasket is rubber, no water there, however when I put the light under pressure 1psi through the hole, water came out of the light..... but not where you think. If you look above the gasket about 1/4" up, you'll see a notch. These lights are made in two pieces and when the top piece is glued to the bottom, tons of air bubbles are left. I could litteraly feel the air coming out. I've put silicone in the tiny grove and I'm going to see how this works. I think I'll order a new light as well as there cheep but I thought that this was something important, as I never new they were that way. I knew they were molded and all that, but the way these are put together, not the best. Another DC good design
Lights
Well I talked to the dealer, my center light is leaking. I do know what and how the gaskets are though. The old ones like my dads 99 had foam, mine has the rubber kinda foam, but the new ones have rubber around the bottom, and the bottom outside. So there going to replace all 5 of them. Hopefully they don't charge for labor and they shouldn't since they said they'd replace them since there leaking. I can't see it since if water leaks on the over head computer there at fault. Wish me luck. I hope this cures it.
