I just found a great deal on an '04 2wd QC SLE w/37,000 mi. for $24,750 @ a local dealer. Before I go look at it, does anyone know offhand what is the break in the build dates between the 555HO and the 600HO of that year? I won't even bother if it's the 600, cause I allready have every thing set up in my '03 ad would like to just swap over.

 

Well I guess I should have read some of the posts 1st, cause gasman just asked this question. I'll keep an eye on that thread.

 

I think it's January, not a 100% sure. Can you have someone look at the engine label and call you?

I was involved in a possible switch from an early 04 to a late 04. Anything made after Dec. 03 had the 600 engine. It turned out that I kept my 555 and have been happy with the decision. It has more power than I'll ever need and is great on fuel economy.

 

I know it was in January 04, and I think I remember 01/07/04 as the cut over date. I am sure there could be some slide on that date depending on engine build and install, but that is with in a week or so. Just have someone look at the label on the valve cover for you. Engine build date and rated HP is easy to see.

 

Mine was a late Dec baby in 04 and was a 305/555. Very happy. 18.5 MPG around town and climbing.........
