But, What is the Leading Trailer Brake Controller, and can you post pictures of where it you located it in your Truck.

Mine is right on the dash driver side against the pillar...I popped the cover(for the speakers) fed the wires into the dash and plugged it right into the socket by the e-brake...VELCRO if you need a pic I guess I could get one

 

I had a REESE in my 02 CTD. It worked good but when I bought the 05 CTD I upgraded to the PRODIGY. I am very happy with this unit. It's a set it and forget it unit. I mounted it on the dash bottom, right side. Didn't want it in the way of my clutch leg. Wiring is simple. Just match the wire colors on the controller to the wires on the plug that should have come with your truck and plug it into the receptical on the fuse block and you are done.

 

PRODIGY PROPORTIONAL BRAKE!!!! GET THE VEHICLE SPECIFIC HARNESS AND IT'S A 5 MIN. INSTALL!!!

The best brake controller sure isn't a prodigy. It is a BRAKESMART, period. I installed mine on the right/lower side of the steering colmn. 2 screws. Plug and play on the rest. Sensor install wasn't bad either. Sorry no pics.

i JUST PUT A RED #9 Kasey Kahne hat on top facing front ...hand controls facing out the back ...to keep the hot sun off the brake box

I have an Older Never Installed Voyager XP Brake Controller (Tekonsha).

Has anyone used this specific type of controller? Any Issues?

i have. if i were you, id shop around and get the new prodigy if your going to be towing frequently. i felt like i was always having to adjust the voyager and never really had it dialed in where i wanted it. you can pick a prodigy up fairly reasonable off places like ebay.

How much better is the brakesmart than the prodigy? Is it worth the extra money?
