Hey all, I bought some front bilstein shocks for my 05 2500 4x4. I ordered the 5100's but they sent me the yellow hd shocks. I am installing a 2" level kit and was wondering if I could still use the hd shocks. It took me 7 weeks to get them so I will use them if I can. Will the hd shocks be just as good as the 5100's? Thanks.

 

I think the 5100s are longer and what you need with the leveling kit. The HD units may be at full extension at all times which will probably damage them. Do the 5100s cost more than the HD? If so then they got some extra $. I'd send them back and ask for what you ordered.

 

7 weeks to get them???????? i just ordered my bilstein 5100's (my second set) today. i already have a tracking number. they ship out tomorrow!!!!! i occasionally read posts on here from members saying they are on backorder. i contacted five different places today-three had them in stock. the other two said they were on national back order!! i heard the same thing when i ordered my first set a couple of years back. call around- they are companies that stock them!!

no- the hd shocks will not work with your spacer lift. send them back- find a retailer that has the 5100's in stock!!

 

the 5100's were on backorder until last week. Everyone has them now!!!
Have patience and get the 5100's!!

 

I would send em back and get the 5100's with your level kit your putting on..
