Bed Liners/Spay-on's

I remember reading several posts about you guys getting spray-on liners. I couldn't figure out why they were so popular. Then it dawned on me, it's because you can't install a 5er hitch on top of a conventional drop in bed liner. Is that correct?

I don't have a trailer yet and I'm undecided which is best. A 5th wheel or receiver hitch trailer? If I get a 5th wheel, I guess I'll either have to cut a hole out of the middle of it or remove it completely. Is this a correct assumption?

What's the going rate for spay-ons? Thanks all!

Your assumptions were mostly correct. LineX, long bed, no rails - - about 400 - 420 depending where you are. I think LineX is probably the best due to the hot application. Seems to go thicker on the sides with no runs, no drips, no errors.

Bob

Depends on what you want to haul in the bed. One spray on dealer told me that because we haul 250 pound steel drums of cattle supplements, that the spray on would not hold up when dragging them in and out. I have two trucks with slide ins and they work well for me, one truck is 10 years old and hasn't rusted out yet - but then I haven't looked under to find out what's happening.

Hey Phox, I checked a while back and I believe that Line-X is down in Provo or Orem.

I like the comment about getting a liner that suits your needs. ;D

The loads I haul typically entail me sliding moderate to heavy loads in and out of the bed. So, I don't want the extra friction of a spray-in liner. Normally, the tendancy of a spray-in liner to limit things sliding in the bed is a good thing. But, for me it is not.

Best to y'all,
Linerless In Utah,
Bill

Re:Bed Liners/Spay-on's

I have a really good friend here in Carson City. He runs an outfit called "Truck Stop Accessories". What I like about him is that he works on all trucks and sells all accessories. He's never led me wrong. My friend recently bought one of those toy Fords for his business. He was advised by my friend to install the slide-in due to the cans, drums, and equipment he carrys. The slide-in handles the bumps, cuts down on dents in the bed floor, etc. But - it will chaff the paint off as it moves around. In my case, though, he suggested the LineX spray in as my requirements are far different on the '03 Ram 3500. We are both pleased with his suggestions. Good Luck : :

Check out the LineX web site, they have $25 to $50 Off coupons good at any LineX dealer.
The dealers here say they are good nation wide.

Re:Bed Liners/Spay-on's

anybody want a factory Dodge 8' bed liner? My '03 came with one & I'm planning on doing a spray in. Condition is brand new & I'd let it go for $150. Retail is $250. Reply with a PM if interested. I'm in Co.
