Found and fixed the rattle!!!!

Went out this morning to give the hitch a good shake. It was solid but during the shaking I heard a slight ticking coming from further forward. So jumped up and down on the bumper. This produced the rattle I have been hearing. Traced it to one VERY loose bolt on the top of one rear shock. Shocking the shock made this very obvious. So tightened the bolt, (a small pain because I had to partially remove a mud flap) and will drive it for a while and then retighten it. Hope this helps some others with similar problems.

PHEW!!!! Sure glad you guys found your banging around to be little nothings. Didn't want to have to start chasing bumps and squeeks around in the Ghost after it got a few miles on it (like some other trucks I have had which we won't mention). 8) 8) RelaxingAgainBob

The hitch will make quite a racket. I had another noise that was bothering me while travelling rough, gravel roads. Sounded like the bed was going to come off. I hadn't fastened down the fold flat load floor and it was bouncing around making a lot of noise. Doh! Bob

Mine has a hell of a banging over RR tracks. not the hitch, when not in use it's under the seat. I was thinking it's something in the drivetrain, when shifting it seems mighty sloppy.

Rob, do you have the underfloor storage? If so, check for something in there.
