Ball Joints

It's that time for ball joints. I'm in the gathering and deciding which parts to go with. I've been told by several parts shops that the upper is not available separate, and I have to get the whole upper control arm, which they have in stock. However, I see all kinds of places online listing uppers separately, but they all seem to have an offset. So what's really up with ball joints for these things?

On my 06, I bought only the ball joints themselves, both upper and lower. Don't know if your 04 would be different or not.

We seem to have 2 ball joint threads open here. What's the deal with the off set joints. Were yours offset?
