Ball Joint Question

I have a 05 3500 quad cab diesel and have had the front axle joints replaced once at 45,000 miles, well they are going bad again at 97,000. I had a mechanic at a dealership tell me I need to replace the ball joints at the same time. Has anyone had theirs replaced yet?

They're a lot easier to change at the same time, but don't necessarily have to be replaced. As cheap as they are I'd go ahead and replace them while it's apart with that many miles.

i did my whole entire front end last summer with the help of a buddy.. i also recommend doing all the work at the same time. since you have close to 100,000 miles- i would also replaced the tie rods too! not that much more expense! i recommend using greaseable axle u-joints along with greaseable/adjustable upper ball joints and greaseable lower ball joints.
