Is the the ball joint going bad

So for the last month or so I've had this odd click happen somewhere in the steering linkage whenever I'm at a sharp steering angle. Usually in the neighborhood of 85% of a maximum turn. Would this be the infamous ball joint going bad? I just hit 80k on the truck and have heard that this is about when this happens, or that it should have by now (don't worry I've already had the lift pump replaced).

Thanks for any input

Chances are that it is your u-joint making the clicking noise. Raise axle one side and rotate tire by hand and listen, turn steering right or left check again. Ball joint check put a bar under the tire and lift, watch for movement in lower joint, bearing check grab the coil spring with one hand mid way rotate tire,if bearing going bad you should feel grinding(vibration) in coil. When you change one part or another you might as well do both ball joints and u-joints, bearings only if bad (PITA to remove if never been touched).

check the track bar bolts also and make sure they are as tight as you can get them with a cheater bar.

Sounds more like an axle joint.

Sounds like the same issue I had a few weeks ago. It turned out to be the pass. side axle ujoint. Gotta love pulling out another hub bearing!
