bad install of ball joints

I am wondering if by installing ball joints incorrectly, it makes them wear prematurely? How can they be installed wrong? they are seating correctly, and not going in hard at all. any input?

Why? I'm just wondering in general, as I was told by the manufacturer that that is the problem with my joints, not the joints themselves. lower are 100% feeling new still.

Well, if they were Moog, then they ball joints are probably bad.

I know with stock parts there is a procedure in service manual for tightening them during install.

The uppers could have been cross-threaded causing an improper angle which would likely make them wear quickly.

I just got all new ball joints under warranty. Only two weeks left on that warranty too.....

the nut wasn't cross threaded. everything went together very smoothly. Perhaps its the torque that wore them out. Seems to me its a pretty straight forward install. they are not Moog's. truck drove excellent until the clunking started. is the upper the only one that gets wear? odd that the uppers were wore, but lowers were still nice and tight.
