Bad - Holes Frame complaint on Ram
Have a guy I know who was grumbling about his last Dodge - Hauls big bales w/lift and said his frame folded! Said it was full of holes and Dodge would not warranty any problems if a lift-spike was added? I hope this is not true!

The new ones (3rd gen) have a fully hydroformed frame. If you start drilling holes or welding on this frame, DC will not warranty it. The manufacturer who drilled or welded on your frame will be responsible for the repairs.
My 2 cents.

And here is the note from the TSB.
NOTE: DAIMLERCHRYSLER CORPORATION DOES NOT RECOMMEND ANY MODIFICATIONS OR ALTERATIONS TO THE FRAME ASSEMBLY. MODIFICATIONS OR ALTERATIONS (I.E., HOLE DRILLING WELDING, ETC.) TO THE FRAME ASSEMBLY ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PERSONS PERFORMING THESE MODIFICATIONS OR ALTERATIONS. ANYONE ALTERING THE FRAME MUST ASSURE COMPLETE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ASSEMBLY, PERFORMANCE RELIABILITY AND COMPLIANCE OF APPLICABLE FMSS REQUIREMENTS.
If you or an installer weld or drill in the frame, some one else will be responsible for the warranty besides DC.

ranchoazul,
In all fairness and to not cloud the issue of frame drilling / welding, I think you should have quoted the complete tsb. I believe it goes on to give pertinent details about the correct way to drill and weld the frame if necessary to do so.
The tsb merely states that DC cannot be held responsible, (which I think is obvious), but does not imply as many people think, that the frame cannot be drilled or welded.
