Anyone driving a Megacab yet?

I am really curious to find out whether the new Megacab has the same vibration issues my 03 had.

Answered my own queston. I drove a one ton laramie at lunch today. Big difference between it and my 03. A lot quieter and no vibe, just the difference between diesel and gas. I noticed some extra weather stipping on the doors and a balancing weight on the rear driveshaft.

The truck did seem to have a more cushioned ride maybe due to the longer wheelbase. Lots of room in the back, it had a center console instead of the seat, no use to me.

Nice truck.

it's not hard to fix the quietness issues on an 03-05 quad cab if you value an 8' bed. still i give dodge credit for addressing the problems and the megacab is a nice rig, just limited in its use in its current configuration.

Hovisimo - can you elaborate on how to quite down an '03 with longbed?

as far as quieting down the interior, i deadened the whole cab with a couple rolls of fatmat, then identified individual rattles/squeaks and went to town on them with a roll of 3/8" dark gray weatherstripping. all of the noises in the dash and doors were from metal on plastic or plastic on plastic contact. my doors rattled real bad where the trailing edge of the plastic door panel (nearest the B-pillar) met the metal door frame, i threw some weatherstripping in between and it quieted it right down. another problem area was the center dash bezel, same solution. it's pretty quiet now.

Took a 2500HD SLT 2wd 610/auto Mega Cab for a test drive today. Very impressed! The ride is much smoother than my QC. Don't know if it's because of the extra weight or recalibration of the suspension. And the leg room in the rear. I had a least 10" from my knees to the back of the drivers seat. The seats , front and rear, are firm and comfortable. I like them better than the previous 3rd gen front seating.
Also impressed with the 48re tranny. I like the firm shifts the tranny produces.

My brother just bought a 2500 MC SLT. Got it for $36,000 and some change, out the door. Will pick it up in about 3 weeks. I think I'm as excited, possibly more so, than he is. We go elk hunting with a couple Ford boys at the end of October and they always complain about the rear legroom of the QC, but now it looks like it will be our turn to complain if we have to ride in their little Ford crew cabs.
