fobiks added

well, I had it done on my 2011 3500 ST ram....
the dealer was learry of doing it because they had no idea it could be done. I was their test customer...I bought the fob from them, and 55.00 bucks in labor later I have a keyless entry remote.....
The instructions here are right on the money!

This is bringing up an old thread, but, does anyone know if this works with a 2012? I just bought mine, and the dealer agreed (in writing) to do the programing work if I buy the fobs. I just want to make sure if I get the parts that I am not throwing away good money!

No...you don't. Not if you only want to add the KEYLESS ENTRY. If that's ALL you want to do, then you just need the fobs, and the programming instructions found in this thread elsewhere. And the instructions must be followed in order and completely, or it will not work. The programming steps for all of the options, keyless entry, fog lights, etc, are all the same, you just need the specific code for the option (keyless entry code is different than foglight code, etc.) If you think you might want to add the foglight kit later, you can have them program in the code to tunr the feature "on" now, then when you get the kit, you won't have to go back and pay again to get that programmed.
If you want to add REMOTE START, which includes keyless entry, then you need the remote start kit, which comes with that antenna, hood switch , etc.
Yes, you can get all the parts you need, whether it be fobiks, foglight kit, or remote start kit from Steve White Dodge, they are good people, and Robert has taken care of many people on these forums.
There are several places to get fobiks cheaper than the dealer, look through this thread and you will find them.
This whole process is incredibly easy, they just have to do the programming completely and in order. The last step of the programming is very important because that is the "update" part. It's like updating your computer at home and not restarting it, the update won't take effect.
Numerous people have done this with great success, I wish I was getting a commission.
Good luck, and let us know how you do.
The dealership that did mine has done a bunch more since then.

There's also a bonus you get with the keyless entry. If you look in the owners manual, under the keyless enrty part, it talks about being able to hit the unlock button twice quickly and the door windows will go down (if you have power windows). I found out that mine works by mistake, and I'm glad I did because on those hot summer days, you can put the windows down on the way to your truck and let the heat out. It's pretty neat. There's actually a video of this feature, under remote start, on youtube. I saw that, then looked in my manual, then tried it and it worked.

I talked to a dealer around here today and they told me they couldn't do it. I told me about this and they told to print it off and bring it in and see if the service manager would give it a shot.

Here's how:
You need the remote keyless FOBIK p/n 502637AG, they cost about $40 ea.
You need the emergency keyblank p/n 68029829AB that goes in the end of the FOBIK, they cost about $25 ea.
You can get both of them from WeRMopar.com, they aren't listed on the website, but they have them. You can call Jerry at 866-453-2250, or get them locally, your choice.
As far as the truck is concerned you will need to take it to the dealer and have it programmed EXACTLY like this, in this order, if you don't, it won't work.

-add sales code GXM to vehicle options

-under diagnostic procedures with Wi-tech do a restore vehicle configuration

-the Wi-tech will then reset

-go into the WCM under misc. functions hit the reset WIN configuration

-clear all codes then program the new keys

this works, I had it done today.
no more fumbling around in the dark for me...
Tried to do mine today on a 2011 3500 st he said they
Done it just like it said the remote wouldn't unlock or lock
The doors but the key will start the truck they told me it don't work on all st models any ideas

Do you know if this will work on a 2013 RAM 3500?
