Hello All,

SLC, UT has finally had some warm days. When turning on the AC There is a loud thump under the dash. It is not a problem. Blows cold air. But the Wife always says it should not do that. So I am apeasing the wife. Anyone else have this thump?

 

Kind of nerve racking, but mines done it since day one. Between the vent door, and the compressor, it's enough to wonder what's going to fall off.......CA truck, so day one has been about 300 days of this, since 1/07.

 

My 06 does the same thing. It seems too loud or harsh but I`ve got 61,000 miles on mine with no problems.

 

Alot of guys report the thumping sound. Not the most assuring sound... now there has been alot of discussion about the poor A/Cs in these trucks.

 

If you have it on recirc when you cut it on it is the recirc door closing. If not it is the blend door moving into place. Sounds normal. Mine will do it also some times.
