9000 GVWR on 03 2500
9000 GVWR on 03 2500
Everything I've seen or read say my 2500 should have a GVWR of 8800 LBS. On the plate on my drivers door it says GVWR 9000! Anyone know why this is? Not complaining, just needing an explanation.
Generic published specs concerning GVWR/GCWR tend to be all over the place and don't deserve much credence all by themselves, what matters is what is placarded on your specific vehicle... if it says 9000 then it's 9000.
OK, I just looked it up and I was wrong
. The difference depends on the engine. The Hemi gets a 8650 GVW with a Regular cab or a 8800 with a quad cab. All other 2500's get a 9000 GVW rating.
The Boss Hog
(Darn, it was not the chrome muffler . . . .
