68RFE 6 Speed Auto in January 2007

According to this article anyway.

Here is the quote of interest:

New developments

So, what is the most exciting thing coming to the Kokomo facilities in 2005? The addition of two new six-speed transmissions was at the top of almost every list.

“The 62TE launch,” said Moore. “That will be the biggest thing.”

“All of our plants will be involved in that,” said Bush.

“The 62TE will replace the 41TE, and then we’re adding the 68RFE,” said Boruff.

“These transmissions will launch in January 2007, so we’ll be retooling (at ITP1) this December,” said Garrison.

Yeah, I saw that too. I wonder if they got the year wrong? Did they really mean Jan 2006? If not, why would they be retooling this December?

Not sure myself but it doesn't seem likely they would retool a whole year before introduction. He probably meant 2006 I would think.
