I forgot to mention that that also happens to John Deere steering wheels. The emblem is upside down when you go straight, sometimes sideways...

Don't know? It just says "Eaton Fuller" on it and looks like this one, only without the switches.

If it doesn't have switches it prolly came off of a 6 or 7 speed.....still cool though..

Hey just leave it alone as it is an additional theft deterent. I read somewhere (can't recall where) that most stolen vehicles per capita are automatic. I guess most thieves can't drive a manual (good for us manual owners)

I installed one of these round Q-ball with the Cummins emblem that Geno's sell. http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo....ber=SHIFT_KN_R

It is much more comfortable on your palm.

Is there a T-handle shifter that works on the 6 speed - or the adaptor for one?

THanks,

Hal

I had a machine shop make a threaded adapter for me. IIRC the threads for a late model Z28 (which I used) is a 16mm x 1.5mm. Our trucks uses a 10mm x 1.5mm

This is an age old problem and there was a long (and somewhat humorous) thread on this in 2003. The plastic thingy can be carefully pried out and reinstalled using a small dab of glue. End of problem. It is NOT the complete **** rotating.

Its the ultra fine residual vibration coming through the shifter from the transmission. It is in there tight, but the vibrations are enough to get it to rotate.
