Hey guys,
does anyone know if the frame on a second gen and 3rd gen 3500 dually are the same or were there changes made?

3 gen are different, made different, and i think sized different

 

3rd gens are a hydro-formed boxed type frame. stronger, and less flex than a 2nd gen.

 

Different widths......I was going to buy a new non used back bumper from a guy ( he bought a new Ford and had never gotten around to installing this one.) The frame attachment spacing was different ( I could have fabbed new ones) and so was the wrap around distance for the bed. It was a Ranchhand bumper.

 

I heard somewhere that the 2nd gen chassis were made by Dana, by not 100% sure.
