245's vs. 265's
It is going to depend on your rim size. If it came with the 245/70R17 your rims may not be wide enough for the 265/70R17 tires. If you don't run into rim width problems, you should be fine with either as they are very close in diameter and treadwidth. Your only real concern is if you have to run tire chains front and rear on a 4x4 model, you will want the 245 size for clearance according to the 2003 manual.
You may want to consider going up to 285's. They are a great fit for our trucks and probably should have been the OEM tire. IMHO, the 265's are just to small and look out of proportion to our trucks. The 245's have got to look silly small.
If you do decide to go up to 285's or any other larger size, I would just run by your local dealer and have them reset the pinion factor to the new size tires so your speedo will be accurate.
Personally, I went with BFG All Terrain KO's in 285/70R17 size and I love them. Pics in my gallery......some of the older pics show the stocker 265 BFG Rugged Trails.
