In the market for my first CTD and am wondering...have there been any rumored changes to the '05 models with respect to the interior of the truck (not talking about any Cummins changes)? Both Chevy and Ford are moving ahead with a few more car-like options and I'm wondering if Dodge will follow in next year's run.

Personally, I'd really like to see a power moon-roof and REAL climate control (auto temp control)...is there anyone yet that's discussed what changes are possible for '05? When do the '05's release?

I have only heard one thing. It is just a rumor so don't put money on it. I heard they were going to expand the quad cab to be larger like Ford and Chevy.

 

I alright got MY seat so the small back seat doesn't bother me.

 

The manufactures are always changing things model year to model year. You'll buy an '05, and see that a wigget was added in '06 and be mad. If you want a truck get one and drive it. Don't worry about the next model year. FWIW I hate ATC. I figure I am capable enuff to turn my own dials. If you want a gadget mobile, you'd better look at GM. Happy truck hunting.

 

Yes, I heard an advertisement for 05 trucks. They will offer satellite radio. Not sure if it was XM though.

forget about auto temp control have it on my subaru and it's horrible. I always run it on manual, can't stand the fan going full blast then off and on..

cool. thanks for the replies. i'm going dodge either way. however, i'm just trying to decide now if i should drive the beater for another 4 months and get on '05 or go for it now on an 04-04.5. i think i may give dodge corporate a call and see what kind of info i can weasel out of them.

 

I'm waiting for an '05 even though there's no evidence saying for sure that anything will change for the better. I'm hoping for a new color... something other than Almond/Silver/White for the light colors. Also, I was told by a dealer that I considered ordering a 04.5 from that any orders with LSD will take until probably July to be delivered. July is supposedly when the 05's will be available for order, so even if they don't change anything for the better, I'll have a "year newer" of a truck for just an extra 2 months wait or so. That, and I'm hoping they find some fix to the mysterious MPG issues.

 

I doubt they are messing with the cab right now.

 

On another chrysler site one topic had mentioned 06 interior redo also new automatic transmission and the addition of the 6.1 hemi

 

I dont think that it was on this site, but someone who works for cummins said that an EGR may be in the near future. Probably not as soon as 05, but who knows.

 

That's not news. It's pretty evident that all diesels will require EGR to meet 2007 emissions.

The only 2 things I'm interested in for 2005 are new colors and better MPG. If neither of those things happens, I'll import a used HO from out of state... but I sure was looking forward to seeing my name on the "made specially for:" sticker.

 

Ok I heard from a 'salesman' at Dave Smith that a power sun roof maybe in the 05 offing and as of last week, 5/18/04 to be exact, you can't order an 04 anyway. Plus Dodge is about 116+ days out right now. More than either one of those other wantabys. I have to agree on 2 posts here new color, how about a jazzed up driftwood and if ya'll want ginger bread and lace don't buy a truck (DODGE). My family is 4th gen Dodge and it hasn't been all that long ago you couldn't get a hub cap or cloth seats!!!! Love my DODGE TRUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
