17" wheels

After 26,000 miles I seen the thread on the Michelin warranty. I went outside to discover my tires had the cracks around the sidewall. Long story short I got 315-70-17 BFG's at a good discount, thanks to this forum. I also just installed a 2" leveling kit and would like to get some aftermarket wheels that will work with a 06'. I understand the selection for 17" wheels for an 06' is limited. I would appreciate any input from anyone that might that might have 17" aftermarket wheels on their 06' or 07'.

As you've noted, if you want to keep it close to the stock setup, the options are limited.

The stock 06 2500 wheels have a +43mm offset. I ended up going with Ultra T6 wheels. They have a +19 offset and with 285/70R17 BFG ATs installed, they stick out about an inch, at the most, past the wheel well.

Here's the link to the Ultra wheels http://www.ultrawheel.com/wheel_deta...brand=1&id=148

I like the Chrome 082 the best out of this bunch.

They also said the racing Fuel would fit. This might be another option, besides the 082.

The racing fuel looks good and has a close to stock offset. The 082s you mentioned only come with a 4-1/2" backspacing, so they'll move your wheel and tire out almost two inches past the stock wheel setup.

They both look good.

Yeah, I,m kind of leaning toward the Racing Fuel myself for the reasons you stated.

Those are nice & seem like they would have a good fit. But they cost $$.
I,m just starting to spend some $ on my truck. Most of my extra $ goes to my Jeep.

The KMC are only $175 each for black, $225 (I think) for chrome. Not too bad...

Really, That's not bad at all. I thought the HD series were more expensive.

They gave me 40% credit.@ 26,000 miles. That was like $114 a tire. So for 5 315-70-17 BFG's with a road hazard warranty on 4 of them I had to pay $902 out the door. Not cheap but still better than it would have been if I had not seen the thread on this forum. I only wish I had seen it earlier. Oh yeah they said my spare was fine but would give me 50% for the trouble.
