'04.5 Needs Windshield Wiper Help
I've got an '04.5 truck. I went outside this evening and jumped in to haul away some Christmas trash, started it up, and turned on the windshield wipers to clear some dew. The wipers moved about one inch up the windshield, then quit moving. I can't get them to do anything now. They won't reset to the "off" position, and they won't "make a pass" across the windshield. I've checked the 30-Amp #8 fuse and swapped the #55 & #60 relays in the fuse panel under the hood, but nothing's helped so far.
I found a couple of old threads that read like the switch in the stalk on the steering column had gone bad and was the culprit.
Anybody have anything like this happen more recently?
The turn signals still work...the washer fluid will spray...high/low beam headlight function works...just no movement of the wiper arms with any switch inputs.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
- Ryan

Does anybody know where the wiper motor is located and how to best access it?
I would think I could get to the harness at the motor and test for voltage to determine whether or not it is the switch or motor that is bad.
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated, though.

Here ya go, straight from the shop manual:
REMOVAL
(1) Remove both wiper arms from the wiper pivots.
(Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/WIPERS/WASHERS/
WIPER ARM - REMOVAL).
(2) Unlatch and open the hood.
(3) Disconnect and isolate the battery negative
cable.
(4) Remove the cowl plenum cover/grille panel
from over the cowl plenum. (Refer to 23 - BODY/EXTERIOR/
COWL GRILLE - REMOVAL).
(5) Disconnect the left headlamp and dash wire
harness connector for the wiper motor from the
motor pigtail wire connector (Fig. 26).
(6) Remove the two screws that secure the wiper
module to the top of the cowl plenum panel at the
pivot brackets.
(7) Remove the two screws that secure the wiper
module to the bottom of the cowl plenum panel.
(8) Remove the wiper module from the cowl plenum
panel as a unit.
Just in case anybody searches this thread for future reference, I wanted to post my findings.
I took the cowl cover off and discovered a loose connection of the harness at the wiper motor. I re-installed the harness securely on the motor and replaced the cowl cover.
Thanks for the help guys...
