$2000 for an LED bar?!

I have a couple of accessory lights on the bowl bar of my 2001 Dodge Ram . Thought it would be cool to change it to a curved light bar.

Anyway, I noticed there are $2000 light bars and $150 light bars. The quality can't be that different to have a tenfold increase in price… Anyone have any experience?

...that should read "bull bar" not "bowl bar".

Check out diesel power gear. I came across them a couple weeks ago. They have what appears to be really nice light bars for a decent price. Some have Cree LEDs, I believe all have aluminum housings. I think some of the really expensive ones are expensive because of how they are made. There is one company (sorry I don't recall the name right now) that has a video showing their LED lights going through every possible abuse and they still function. Ice, hammer, chisel, dragged down a road, cut with a torch, etc and they were still either fully or partially functioning--but they are expensive. A friend of mine had those (the ones put through abuse) installed on his truck.

I think it comes down to quality and the type of LED technology being used.

The price there is pretty good. I checked out Diode Dynamics and they have a 50 inch for $800. Not quite as good as diesel power gear, but good. DD has options for "spot", "flood" and combo of the two. So that's a bonus.

Incidentally, diode dynamics had LED bulbs for the fog lamps that are brighter than stock. Going to give that a go. I'll wait to purchase the light bar until I get my new Fab Fours bumper.
