Intercooler issue?

Does anybody know if there is or was a problem to make Dodge change the 6.7 CAC after the 07 introduction? It appears that there is a new CAC and outlet pipe as well on the '08 & '09.

The later coolers are smaller so it is easier to get the temps up for doing the regens......
