The axle looks like a toothpick compared to those tires!

So true. If i were to ever do something like that I would def. go with some larger/better rated axles. Those things look like they will be the weak link in the whole setup [laugh] [dummy]

X2

I mean you gotta give it to the guy that thought it up, built it and paied for it.

Alot of companies now days create vechiles like this to shocase a product and company. I seriously doubt some regular Joe drives this thing to work everyday....like some of you guys seem to think.

or it could be some stupid rich guy

either way I think its cool and I beat alot of outside people think we're crazy with all this 7K lb hot rod 4x4 diesel truck's

It does look small.. Do you guys think it's still an AAM axle that somebody modified and put a pinion brake on? I had to look twice cause I thought I saw one.. Yep thats definitely a pinion brake.

With how big those tires are (I believe they are 52"s) it could be a rockwell for all we know.

CrazyFloyd 12-11-2006 11:05 PM

If I had the money to drive a truck like that I would but, only if I had enough money to by the truck I drive now on an everyday basis. Could not drive something like that everyday.

Boz007 12-11-2006 11:12 PM

Look close guys. Those are top loading 2.5 ton Rockwells. Those are definately not toothpics. I wonder what rpm's he's turning with 6.72 gears.

NukleusX 12-11-2006 11:17 PM

Guess they just look tiny with those huge tires and lift and all. [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

06dually 12-11-2006 11:19 PM

I could see myself driving that.....tailgating all the soccer moms in their minivans!![guitar] [guitar] [guitar]

Boz007 12-11-2006 11:31 PM

It actually still has the stock rockwell 6 lug pattern.

jestes 12-11-2006 11:34 PM

Dang! That's just insane.... I'm betting it's a showtruck. I know here in Memphis that thing wouldn't even be street legal.

D.Wiggs 12-11-2006 11:35 PM

That truck was at SEMA back in 2005. It was huge then when it had 44.6" Dunlop tires on it!

Boz007 12-11-2006 11:35 PM

Yup definatley 2.5 ton rockwells.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n...0stuff/2-1.jpg

Luvnacumns 12-11-2006 11:36 PM

Those tires seem bigger than 44.6.. But they're still huge!!!!!!!!!!

Luvnacumns 12-11-2006 11:37 PM

D.

Nevermind.... It's been late and I just fully Comprehended your post!!!! I will be going to bed now..

If they are the Michelins that I THINK they are; they are 48"

06Cummins 12-11-2006 11:46 PM

thats just rediculous...i wouldnt want to know the amount of money in that truck....yikes

White97GTVert 12-11-2006 11:57 PM

I dig the rear steering as well. Pretty cool!

Doesn't Michelin make a 52" ? They look bigger then even a 48"

D.Wiggs 12-12-2006 12:13 AM

It's actually a 46.8 x 15.3 and weighs 219 lbs. by itself!!:o

There is even a 54.6 x 23.9 for a 21" rim that weighs 421 pounds!!!!:o

Sloverado 12-12-2006 12:25 AM

That truck was in Diesel Power awhile back.

djgaston 12-12-2006 03:11 AM

Boz, I'm proud of you man. Seriously. I was going to tell everyone that those are 2.5 ton Rocks with 53 inch Michelins, but you beat me to it.

That truck is built pretty well guys, for what it is. I'd like to check it out in person sometime. I don't think it's anything special, other than a really tall freaking truck, but I give the guy props for upgrading axles and doing up the suspension right as far as I can tell. The steering is all good. You just don't see that type of quality in most show trucks, particularly the idiots that run 1/2 ton axles and 44 or 49 inch tires. [dummy]

SupaDupa 12-12-2006 07:31 AM

Some guys will do anything to try and pick up girls!!!!!

tx4x4er 12-12-2006 08:53 AM

Here is the truck in 05 before all the axles and all the goodies he added..Nice titan II Road Armor

Awwww, thanks man. [redface] [laugh]

I agree. That truck is probably just a show truck and most people wont go as far us upgrading things like that for a show truck. Kudos to that guy.

dodgezilla04 12-12-2006 10:20 AM

the top disc brakes were the rockwell giveaway

Thundercloud 12-12-2006 10:25 AM

Do you think he voided any of his warrenty?[laugh] [laugh] [coffee] [laugh]

cquestad 12-12-2006 11:00 AM

It is a 2 1/2 ton axle...more than enough.

Can we say Rockwell anyone?

Dane Bramage 12-12-2006 11:17 AM

practical benefits of lifting?

Are there any practical benefits to lifting a rig? I can understand bigger tire lift, that moves the axles up, but just a lift of the chassis with the axles still sitting at same height and same clearance issues makes no sense to me. Only benefit I can see would be keeping the air intake higher if you take your rig through rivers, etc.,.
Anyways - if i were faced with that terrain, etc. ,etc., I'd be thinking UniMog with it's snorkel and above-center axles.

getblown5.9 12-12-2006 11:33 AM

GEN3TRQMONSTER 12-12-2006 11:34 AM
