Where is the best place to tap in for the [positive 12v switched] to power my pyro guage. or which wire to tap into under the dash. For an 06.

One of the power ports is switched. Not sure which one the '06.

But I was lazy and ran mine 12v always from the electric brake controller. No problem in 4 years.

All but one of the 06 and 07 5.9s I have seen have had the pigtail for the power pedal switch underneath the dash to the left of the steering wheel, even if they don't have the pedals. I use this because it is a fused circuit that has nothing else with it. There is one wire in this pigtail that is ignition hot.

thanks for the help guys. I knew about the pink with yellow tracer from diesel manor. It says to use an inline fuse if taping from that wire which i don't have. I was looking for another tap other than the that one or the cig lighter outlet. on my Ford, there was a 12v switched power lead under the dash for adding and electrical accessory. hopeing DC had one as well.

I tapped of my cigarette lighter the first time. When the weather clears up, I am going to wire up everything to my "Painless Wiring Kit" that has 7 circuits that are "key hot". My "add-ons" will be wired to the PWK so I do not have to keep going into the fuse box for one of my power taps ...just one more time for power to trip the relay. Do it right the first time...
