Why run twins if new singles are so good?

Twins

Watch out for this!!!!!!!!

Most twins have two problems.

1) They just are not going to spool like a small or mid size single (60-64mm). That wasn't a big deal to me since if I really wanted them to be there for me on a launch I would boost brake. That's a little hard to do from a stop light when you live in a large Metro area,... the smoke,.... tire burning,... ...issed off people behind you with cell phones taking your license number down and call the locals on you. The mid and high range is just freakin' awesome.

2) You need to ck out in the best manner possible for slag left from welding in your cold pipes. Guess where that will go?? If you're lucky it's just a turbo but obviously it can get a lot worse if it goes on through your intercooler and engine. No one ever talks about that cold piping but it is a concern YOU should have if you run twins. Stick something flexible up in the pipe and feel for slag ridges and then try to get any hanging pieces off by the best means possible,... maybe a flexible Dremel tool or whatever it takes as to let it go is like playing Russian Roulet.

All twins and welders are NOT created equal.

He uses a different version of them. Not the same as the regular Relentless setup. Still, that's a ton of HP.

I couldn't honestly tell you. I've just seen in some of his posts that he started with the regular Arctic Air twins but uses something different (bigger) now.

NOT!! RC is using a modded 40 and the Ht3b in his current setup.

However he made huge power with the original Artic Air setup. I suppose it just wasn't enough air for the way he's currently equipped.

I have to disagree, I have a couple of friends running the Scheid twins---Really nice.

IMO why would you want to tow heavy with 500+hp anyway? That is so much extra stress on parts it is rediculous, your EGT's may stay sane 9with twins) but what about tranny and diff temp? They could skyrocket, also your drivetrain takes a royal thrashing, u-joints and yokes get stressed badly... I think on the 3rd gen's they can run large singles and still have good manners on the street when turned up and then tow well with the power at a lower level... My .02

I TIG'd mine and I can assure you there was no slag or rough welds hanging around. Powder coating is very thin compared to spray so any flaws will be very visible. Most of the twins makers I've seen wouldn't last a day in the custom motorcycle market as far as fit and finish is concerned but they do in fact make nice products. Make sure the builder is willing to stand behind their setup....if it doesn't work they're on the hook. Some of these turbo builders figure cause its on a truck it can be rough and tumble fit and finish. ks

The only towing I'll be doing is about 1500lbs in the winter. Not worried too much about that. Hardly even notice it is back there now with my current truck.

This is the display unit in Sheid in Effingham, Il. that I saw. Not impressive. I have never been to any of the other stores of theirs but based on what I saw I would look around. I even asked them some ?'s and the sales guy couldnt understand what I would want with a rail preassure gauge.
