Good question. I've been watching these post (and saving my pennies) before buying anything..

Where is your Commander sitting

Where are you guys hanging your Quad Commander? Sounds somewhat easy to install so I don't have to find shop and can do it myself. But where to put it? Any pictures?

It's on my dash about 3" to the right of center of my steering wheel.

Mine is now installed completely!!! I am completely stupid when it comes to this stuff so it took me an afternoon (mainly because I didn't know what the pump looked like & I couldn't find the map sensor because one of the 4 wires was tucked behind the other 3). It si mounted about 3 inches to the side of the pillar. I think I am wanting that new pillar when it is available.

You mean the cooldown feature that keeps the truck running until it gets to a lower temp? Or the semi cool down when it defuels at a pre set (by you) egt?

One that keeps the truck running until a low EGT is reached like 300-350 then shuts the truck down. SO that I don't have to sit in my drivway for 3min waiting to get the truck to cooldown.

I waited as long as I could for the pillar mount but finally had to get off my dash. I never could get the 3M tape to stick so I went with the mount below. I like the fact I can adjust it to best suit me.

I guess I haven't pulled heavy enough yet to need a cooldown timer. I don't think mine has idled above 350 for more than a few seconds. Just don't get hard on the throttle when your moving to your parking spot. I wonder some days if my truck runs cooler than most. Even with the stock muffler on.

Truth is I don't even know yet... no gauges... I have been trying to do it all in one shot I like the fact that the Edge Atittude has this feature but I would prefer to have the Commander IF it had the cooldown feature... I figure if I put gauges on then eventually I will need a cooldown and might as well get it all in one package if I can!

A cool down timer is being built. It will be an accessory and will not be included with the base kit. It will cool down based on egt or time and you will be able to set it with the Commander.

I can't give a date but it is being worked on as we speak.

I can be pulling the 5th wheel and get off the highway to fillup and I let mine idle and within about 30 seconds I am down to 300* or under. For less than one minute idle time I have no need for a cool down timer.
