Who has a Goerend Trans in Colorado? Or Anywhere for that matter?

I have been talking to Dave about building me a trans or at least getting a TC, VB, billet input, etc and I am trying to decide which converter to go with.

I was looking for someone here in colorado that has a Goerend converter and wondering which one they went with and their thoughts on it. If possible it would be nice to meet up and go for a quick spin if thats cool with you. However a good objective review of the stator type you went with and what you think of it would work too.

Thanks
Nick

I think all of Dave's TC's are set at a 1500rpm stall unless ordered otherwise.

Actually he has a ton of different configurations that is why I was asking.

We pretty much narrowed it down to a 15 blade left cut or a 17 blade left cut. I was just curious what other people have gone with and how they like it.

Like whether they wish it was a little tighter or a little looser

I'm at about 5500 or so.

Bigger

I think I am gonna go with the 15 blade left cut, but wanted some opinions

Yeah a 15 blade would prob be your best bet at your elevation, a 900/400 or 800/300 would prob be too tight once you got a bigger charger.

I know you posted about goerend, and nothing against their trannys, but ATS is right down the road from you. Theirs something to be said for local support, they have been helping us for years!

Yeah I know they are local, but you hear varying stories with ATS from good customer service and good products to the opposite of both. Not bashing them at all.

Its just I've never heard a bad thing about Goerend and I appreciate the time Dave has taken to talk to me about my trans. Plus you can't beat his warranty.

I have a 900/400 in mine and it is perfect for my current setup. I'd go looser if I was running bigger charger though.

I have the 15 blade left cut and love it. Does great towing heavy. It is a little looser than a standard DTT 89%. My VB is setup for towing live stock (horses). I get a good positive shift unless I am in it and it will shift hard. It should of been this way stock!!!!!!! If you are gonna do a larger turbo with a 71mm turbine or higher. Get the 15 blade left cut.

Does your's seem pretty laggy with that converter or is it ok. I have never ridden in a dodge with a built trans so I am trying to figure out how tight to go. If I'm cruising along and go WOT my rpm's pretty much shoot up to 3k and it just doesn't feel like its putting the power to the ground and I don't even turn the SMARTY or X2 up. I run the smarty on #3 and the x2 on the max milage stack. Even with no SMARTY my truck would flash up to 3k at WOT.

I just don't want to get it too tight and be blowing smoke all the time cause I can't get the turbo spooled.

I really like the 15 blade left cut. Mine is tighter than that, but i think when i have it built, I have him change it to the 15, reverse cut stator. You might go just a shade tighter, but it is a pretty good all around converter.
