not meaning to hijack thread, but do you think there's a problem with a dealership taking care of something under warranty (like injectors), if they know you've done something (like added pressure), because they still think there is reason to believe that it was just a part failure? i'm saying that you have them look at your truck with all mods still on, and they think the failure was just due to an issue that they see on non modded trucks as well, and fix it under warranty. just curious....

I know a guy who is the diesel tech at the local dealership, and he will help you if your cool. He looks at me and says you got no dukes, and I agree. When star gets involved your in trouble no matter what the dealer says. I am not one of those guys that says dont try, heck give it a whirl, but you may be on your own.

Robert, why does yours smoke at start up???

If you can get away with a warrenty claim have at it, I just feel that this would not of happend had I left the truck stock.

I have run pressure since 900 miles and the truck now has almost 52k on it.

I should also mention I have blown my relief valve and now have a cap, I know its not the smartest thing but its what I got.

And thanks for the compliment Rye, thats a mighty fine rig you got too.

i'm not saying i've got injector problems now, and i'm considering it- i already got my injector problem straightened out for now (flux in near future). my dealership is o.k. with taking care of warranty work, even with mods, as long as they think you've got a legit, non- mod related problem. i was just wondering if anyone thinks that even though the dealer has no problem with it, once you add pressure, you should no longer have an injector, cp3, or lift pump warranty.

Oh, and chipmonk, I am not one to say whats right and whats wrong, thats gona vary from person to person, but what I can tell you is that the whole warrenty issue is a very touchy subject, kinda like politics and religion so dont be suprised if some get a bit heated about it.

Personaly, I dont really care what anyone else does, that for you to decide, but for me I think the right thing is to take care of this one myself.

i think you're a stand-up person for your decision, and respect you for it. i agree that sometimes a person's mods make them responsible for repairs, but was just wondering how some felt about the more 'gray' areas- when you don't hide your mods from the dealer, and they have no problem doing the repair under warranty.

After letting the truck sit for about 36hrs I cranked it up and it idled smooth, just like it has since I have owned it but it did puff white right when it was fired but that was it.

I guess this means that right now the leak is very minor?

I have been having the same issue lately, but it does not smoke every startup. When it does, it is a puff not a cloud. I dumped in some more PS, and will keep an eye on it.

What injector cleaner do you guys recommend? Mine has been doing that for about 3 days now, and if its not dirty injectors i'm going to stick some in! If i pulled mine and sent them off to Don how long do you guys think it would take...max! I drive it every day so i would have to drive my dads truck(duramax) and don't want to drive it no longer than i have to

Thanks guys

Chad

Lookin at your sig youare pretty much stock so if you arent outa warrenty get dodge to put new ones in.

I have heard of people overnighting injectors lets say on a Monday and haveing them overnighted back and recieving them Wednesday.

Guess it depends on how far you live from Dons shop and how much you want to pay for shipping.
